Legend Behind Kamada Ekadashi Fast

The legend behind this fast takes us back to the story of a couple, Lalit and Lalitha. Lalitha, an Apsara (fairy) was married to Lalit, a Gandharva. The couple were excellent at singing and dancing and used to showcase their talent in the court of King Pundarika. Once Lalit was asked to dance without his wife, which was not accepted by him. As a result, Lalit made many mistakes while performing and didn't perform well. On this, the people present in the court, informed the king, the reason behind the faulty performance. The king got angry and lost his temper. He cursed Lalit which resulted in Lalit's transformation into a demon. The king thought that Lalitha won't ever accept a demon as her husband. But her love for her husband was eternal and she told the king that she can never leave him. To help Lait in coming back to his normal way, the couple began their hunt to find a solution. Once while on their way, they met sage Sringi and told him everything that happened with them. After carefully listening to the couple, Sringi advised them to observe Kamada Ekadashi Vrat. The couple obeyed the sage and observed the fast. Their devotion and faith in the Vrat turned worth and Lalit got back in his normal form.


Thus, we can conclude that observing this fast with belief and pure heart can surely help us in accomplishing our wishes and desires.

On April 14, 2014, Sun will transit into its exaltation sign, Aries. Till May 14, it will reside here. Sun will be entering into his sign of exaltation on April 14, 2014. It will come on the axis of Rahu - Ketu and will be aspected by Saturn and Mars. Both the planets are retrograde. Sun will be in Aries till May 14 and the benefic aspect of Jupiter will be missing. Jupiter is aspecting Saturn and Rahu in Libra, but Mars is devoid of his aspect. Mercury is going debilitated till April 20, 2014.

In the foundation chart of India, the nation is going through Maha Dasha of Sun and Antara of Ketu. We are going through electoral process and some of the phases have been completed, but much is remaining. Sun will transit in the stars of Ketu, Venus and Sun in this transit. Sun is the ruler of planetary kingdom and so it represents rulers, high ranking officials etc. in mundane astrology. Baisakhi or Vaisakhi is one of the biggest festivals of Sikh community. It is celebrated all over India with great fervor and joy. During my childhood, I used to see my father humming. At that time, I never understood the meaning of what he sang. Other than being an astrologer, my father was a farmer too. He remembers many proverbs said by Ghagh Muni. He always used to sing the below mentioned lines: 

उत्तम खेती , मध्यम वान ।

निषिध चाकरी , भीक निदान ।।

Uttam Kheti, Madhyam Baan।

Nishidh Chaakri, Bheekh Nidaan।।

It means that agriculture is the highest profession. According to Ghagh, doing job is secondary, whereas begging is the worst thing. If given a thought, this is absolute truth. 

Today, I think that thousand years back, our Saints and Sages had knowledge that was accurate and practical. This amazes me and I feel proud about the knowledge and experience our ancestors had. Today, there is a need that we fill our lives with useful knowledge through the series of verses given by Ghagh. Some of the verses from Ghagh Muni's compilation, are mentioned below. Let us see that upto what extent this knowledge is justified. 

आसाढ़ी पूनो दिना, गाज बीजु बरसंत।

नासे लच्छन काल का, आनंद मानो सत।।

Aasadi puno dina, gaaj beeju barsant।

Naase lachhan kaal ka, aanand maano satt।।

It means that on the Purnima of Asadh, if there happens thunderstorming along with lightning and rain then it signifies that the year will go prosperous. If we cross check this fact with Asadh Purnima then we will find it true in reality. 

सावन सुक्ला सप्तमी, जो गरजै अधिरात।

बरसै तो झुरा परै, नाहीं समौ सुकाल।।

Savan Shukla Saptami, jo girje adhi raat।

barse to chura parre, naahi samo sukaal ।।

This means that during Shravan Shukla Saptami, if thunderstorm takes place along with rain then it will result in drought. On the other hand, no rain means good time. 

सावन पहिले पाख में, दसमी रोहिनी होय।

महंग नाज अरु स्वल्प जल, विरला विलसै कोय।।

Saavan pahile paakh mei, Dasmi rohini hoye।

Maheng naaj aru swalp jal, virna vilseh koye।।

During Shravan Krishna Paksha, if there is Rohini Nakshatra (constellation) on Dashmi Tithi, then it means that prices of grains will go up. Also, there will be scarcity in rain and very few people will feel happy. 

भादों की छठ चांदनी, जो अनुराधा होय।

ऊबड़ खाबड़ बोय दे, अन्न घनेरा होय।।

Bhaado ki Chhath chandni, jo Anuradha hoye।

Ubad khabad boye de, ann ghanera hoye।।

If on Bhaadrapad Shukla Chhath, there is Anuradha Nakshatra then on that day sowing grains even on uneven land results in yield of abundant grains. 

शुक्रवार की बादरी, रही सनीचर छाय।

तो यों भाखै भड्डरी, बिन बरसे ना जाए।।

Shukrawar ki baadri, rahi Sanichar chaaye।

To yon bhakhe bhaddri, bin barse na jaaye।।

If the cloudy environment of friday remains on saturday too, then it is known as baadri. It means that these clouds will rain for sure. 

Ghagh Muni has created numerous lines like this. We can live a happy life by using these lines of knowledge. All we need is, patience.

If the csl of 6th cusp is a significator of any of 6,10,11 houses then the person will qualify, but if that csl signifies cusps 4, 5, 12 then the opponent wins. If he favors both equally, the we have to see the significations of Maha Dasha - Antardasha lord.

1. The sixth cuspal sub lord is Sun in 5th in sub of Venus in 4th house. Sun and Venus both signify positive and negative houses equally.
2. The tenth cuspal sub lord is Venus in sub of Venus in 4th house. Venus is a strong significator of houses 11th and is not a significator of 5th cusp.
3. The eleventh cusp sub lord is Saturn in 12th itself in sub of Rahu in 12th house.
4. Saturn signifies 8 and 12 houses and is not a significator of 11th cusp and is retrograde and will remain retrograde till the polling date.
5. At this time, Moon is transiting in 4th house sub of Mercury in 4th cusp. The 6th csl Sun is in 5th house. The polling will be on 12th May in Varanasi. Moon will be in Chitra, star of Mars, which is a good significator of 11th cusp. But Mars will be retrograde at that time, as it is now.

Conclusion: Narendra Modi may face some troubles in winning his seat. His decision of contesting from two seats is appreciable. With the help of his party workers, chances of winning will increase for Modi.
