Maa Chandraghanta, the third manifestation of Durga, is the Devi of third day of Navratri. Beliefs say that on this day, divine voices and things are witnessed by the devotees. Read all about the rituals of this day in this article.

Maa Chandraghanta is worshiped on the third day of Navratri.


As the third Avatar of Maa Durga has half moon on her forehead; thus, she is known as Chandraghanta. The appearance of the goddess is shiny golden, while her voice is loud and roaring. Devi rides on a lion and she always seen in a steady, ready to fight (with the devils) position. Maa Chandraghanta has three eyes and ten hands. She carries weapons in eight hands, blesses her devotees with ninth hand. And stop harm and negativity from her tenth hand.

It is believed that on the third day of Navratri, divine sounds are heard and divine fragrance is felt by her devotees.


Rituals Of The Day



The Puja Vidhi of third day begins with worshiping Goddess Lakshmi, Saraswati, Vijaya, Jaya, Lord Ganesha and Kartikeya. All the nine planets are also worshiped along with them. Now comes the turn to worship the Devi of the day, Chandraghanta. At last, Lord Shiva and Brahma are worshiped.

Here comes the fourth day of Navratri, the day of “Goddess Kushmanda”. The name Ku-shm-anda means “the cosmic egg”; and for this reason, the goddess is also known as the creator of the universe. It is said that Lord Vishnu created the universe when Maa Kushmanda smiled and moved away. Darkness of every corner ended with her boundless smile. Her spark lightens all directions and lives of human beings. The incredible goddess resides on the core of the sun and governs the functioning of Saur Mandal. Devi Kushmanda has eight hands. She carries mace, bow, Kamandalu, lotus, discus, jar of nectar, arrow, and Japa Mala (rosary). With her Japamala, she offers Ashta Siddhis (wisdom of 8 types) and Navnidhis (wealth of nine types) to her devotees. The jar of nectar is to offer health and long life to the human beings. Vahana of the Goddess Kushmanda is a lion.

  4. At the time of judgement Moon is in 8th bhava in sub of Saturn in 6th bhava.
Saturn is retrograde. Thus Moon at this time is showing problems for him but the horoscope is agreeing. The chart for opponent is weaker than the chart for the ascendant.

His win is highly susceptible. The pratyantar or sub-sub period operating at the time of polls will be of Moon which is negative for the leader but the sub period and main period are not that negative.

Conclusion: His win is very difficult as per the horoscope erected and signals of moon. He will have to make a lot of efforts and adjustments to record a win this time. In the end I think he will be able to record a win.

Fifth day of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Skand Mata. Being the epitome of motherhood, she displays the beautiful bond between a mother and her child. Also known as Padamasani, Skand Mata is also the destroyer of evil and negativity.

Skanda Mata is the goddess of fifth day of Navratri.

Skand Mata is the Goddess who is worshiped on the fifth day of Navratri. She is also known as the mother of Skanda Kumar (Lord Kartikeya). The term Skanda means ‘one who has six heads’. These six heads are associated with five senses and mind. The goddess holds her son in her lap and has three eyes and four arms. She carries lotus in two hands and uses third hand to support her son. She uses her fourth hand for giving boon to the devotees and followers. As, she resides on lotus flower; therefore, she is also known as Padmasani. She rides on a lion and whenever negativity and injustice increases, Skand Mata comes for the rescue.

Rituals of fifth day of Navratri are done according to Panchopchar Pujan. As per the Puja Vidhi, the goddess is worshipped along with Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma. The atmosphere gets charged with supernatural powers which fulfills the desires of the devotees. To show respect to the Devi, fast is also observed by some devotees. As per the beliefs, mind of devotees enter into Vishuddha Chakra on this day.

  4. If 6th house lord ascendant is situated in 8th or 10th house and is aspected by malefic planets, then there is possibility of suffering from cancer.
  5. If in the horoscope of any native, Sun is in 6th, 8th or 12th house, along with malefic planets then the native is likely to suffer from stomach or intestinal ulcer and cancer.
  6. In native’s horoscope, if Sun is posited anywhere along with malefic planets and ascendant lord or ascendent is also under the influence of these planets, then cancer is possible.
  7. If weak Moon is posited in 6th, 8th or 12th house in the signs of malefic planets and ascendant or moon is aspected by Saturn and mars then cancer occurs.

Eye Disease 

  1. Ascendant lord Jupiter meaning 3-6 or Mars, if posited in sign of 1-8 then there is a strong possibility of eye diseases.
  2. 8th house lord or ascendant lord, if together are situated in 6th house then deficit in the left eye is certain.
  3. If Venus is posited in 6th or 8th house then there could be a deficit in the right eye.
  4. If lords of 10th and 6th house along with 2nd house lord are situated in ascendant than the native loses eyesight.
  5. If Mars is in 12th house then left eye and if Saturn is in 2nd house then right eye might get injured.
  6. Positioning of Sun aspected by malefic planets, in Trikon, reduces the vision power of the eye.

Muteness or Dumbness

  1. If lord of 2nd house along with Jupiter is present in the 8th house then there is a high possibility of being dumb.
  2. If lord of Mercury and 6th house is in ascendant than the native is mute.
  3. If Mercury is present anywhere in Cancer, Taurus or Pisces ascendant and is further aspected by weak moon, then the native might suffer from impediments.
  4. Be it any ascendant, but if Venus is in 2nd house and is affected by malefic planet then the native has eye related trouble or will suffer from lisping.
  5. If there is conjunction of 2nd house lord and 8th house lord or if the lord of 2nd house is poised with malefic planets and is aspected by 8th house lord, then native may suffer from numbness or lisping.

Tuberculosis (TB)

  1. If Rahu is posited in 6th, Saturn is in Kendra from ascendant and the lord of ascendant is in eighth, there is strong possibilities of suffering with TB.
  2. If Mercury is positioned in the house of moon then the possibility of having tuberculosis or leprosy increases.
  3. If Mars and Saturn are aspecting ascendant then breathing troubles may develop.
  4. Conjunction of Sun and Moon in the zodiac sign Cancer or Leo, results in tuberculosis.
  5. If Moon is in Cancer, Capricorn, Aquarius or Pisces and Jupiter positioned in 8th house is aspected by malefic planets, then the native dies because of tuberculosis.

Dementia (Hallucination)

  1. Jupiter and Mars if posited in ascendant and 7th house, respectively, then native may suffer from hallucination.
  2. If Saturn is in ascendant and 1st, 5th or 7th house is associated with Mars then the native will suffer from dementia after facing hallucination.
  3. Conjunction of Saturn and weak moon in 12th house also leads to hallucination.
  4. Conjunction of Venus and Jupiter results in problem of hallucination in the native. On the other hand, influence of Rahu or Saturn on ascendant along with weak moon will result in dementia.

Blood Pressure

Problem of blood pressure is seen in the native, if:

  1. Mars is posited in the region of Moon.
  2. If Saturn is in 4th house then along with high blood pressure, native may have to deal with heart attack.
  3. Be it any ascendant, if Saturn or Rahu are in 4th house and Moon is also affiliated, then native may have severe cardiac arrest.
  4. In any ascendant, conjunction of 12th house lord, Moon and Venus in two houses at the same time, results in high blood pressure along with accident.
  5. If in any ascendant, 4th house lord is in 8th house then the native will have high blood pressure.

Leprosy

  1. If Saturn, Mars and Moon, are posited in Aries or Taurus then there's a chance of white leprosy.
  2. If Moon along with Rahu is is ascendant then also leprosy occurs.
  3. If Moon is in any water sign and affected by Venus then there is a complete possibility of having white leprosy.
  4. Mercury in Aries, Moon in 10th house and conjunction of Saturn and Mars also gives leprosy.
  5. Mercury, Moon and the ascendant lord is conjuncted with either Rahu or Ketu then Leprosy happens.

Jaundice

  1. Conjunction of Sun, Mars and Saturn in ascendant, company or aspect of of benefic planets, leads to jaundice.
  2. Jupiter in 8th house and debilitated Mars results in jaundice.
  3. Conjunction of Rahu and Jupiter in 8th house may also result in liver related diseases.

Addiction Of Anything Results, When:

  1. Malefic planet is in 12th house.
  2. Jupiter is in ascendant of Capricorn
  3. Ascendant lord is weak and is aspected by malefic planets.
  4. Ascendant lord is posited in debilitated sign or is in its enemy sign
  5. 12th house lord is in debilitated planet.
  6. There is Dasha (period) or Antar Dasha (sub period) of Rahu.

Other Diseases and Planets

  1. Ascendant lord is affected by malefic planets or weak Moon is posited in ascendant, then the native suffers from diseases throughout their life.
  2. Ascendant or 8th house Jupiter is the Karak (significator) of obesity. Their presence in 8th house results in thyroid along with obesity.
  3. Rahu, Venus or Saturn of 8th house certainly results in arthesis
  4. Mercury affected by malefic planets results in disease of bile.
  5. Natives of Capricorn and Aquarius ascendant definitely suffer from arthritis. If Saturn is affiliated then also there is possibility of having arthritis.
  6. If ascendant lord is weak, Moon and Sun are also weak and are affected by malefic planets, then the native may suffer from suicidal thoughts.
  7. Be it any ascendant, conjunction of Saturn and Moon in 8th house are capable of giving death due to some evil acts done by enemies, against the native.

Today, i.e April 8, is the birthday of Lord Rama. This day is popularly known as Ram Navami. Ram Navami also marks the end of Chaitra Navratri (9 day festival in honor of Mother Goddess during March-April). According to the Hindu calendar, Ram Navami is observed on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra.

Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu is one of the most loved deity of Hindu religion. He took birth to vanquish the demon Ravana. He is called Maryada Purushottama, as his character, behavior and idealistic personality sets an example for all his devotees. He shows us the noble virtues that should be followed in life. Not only in India, but Ram Navami is also celebrated in other countries as well, with great fervour and enthusiasm.

Ram Navami occurs on the last or ninth day of Chaitra Navratri.

Rituals Of Ram Navami



At some places, Ram Navami is celebrated throughout the nine days of Navratri and is known as Sri Rama Navaratri. Several Bhajan, Kirtan and Paths are organised in the honor of Lord Rama. The best period to perform the rituals of Ram Navami is Madhyana or noon period (approx. 2 hours and 24 mins). It is believed that Lord Rama was born in the mid of Madhyana. Chanting of Bhajans and Kirtans in temples reaches to its peak at this time.

Lord Rama, his wife Mata Sita and his brother Laxman, are worshiped on Ram Navami. Devotees come together and worship Lord Rama in order to celebrate his birthday. Some devotees observe full day fast in the honor of the deity.

Ram Navami is a very big festival in Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh). Reason behind is that Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Rama. All the temples of the city are decorated beautifully with flowers and lights. Special Ratha Yatra is organized by the people to celebrate the day and to show their love toward the lord.


Legend of Rama Navami



Lord Rama was the son of King Dashrath of Ayodhya. He had three queens (Kousalya, Sumitra, and Kaikeyi), but not even a single child. The king was very depressed. He organized a special Yagya with a hope of getting blessed with a child. His Yagna paid off and he got Lord Rama (incarnation of Lord Vishnu) as his son, from his wife Kaushalya. He got his son Bharat from Kaikeyi and Laxman & Shatrughan as twins from Sumitra.

Lord Rama killed the demon Ravana and freed the world from his misdeeds. He established Rama Rajya (a period of peace and prosperity) and showed the correct path of life to be followed.

Ascendent and Arudha Lagna plays an important role in making predictions.

The birth ascendant is the sign of the zodiac that was just rising over the eastern horizon at the moment the native was born. For example, if you were born at sunrise, your birth ascendant would be the same as your sun sign. Your birth ascendant is important for two reasons:

  1. Firstly, your birth ascendant determines your personality. It determines how you portray yourself to the outer world.
  2. Secondly, it lays the foundation of one’s house in their horoscope (Kundali). Reason behind is that beginning of first house is marked by the birth ascendant. It (birth ascendant) changes its signs approximately after every two hours.
Because the ascendant sign is specific to the time and place of an individual’s birth, it represents the self and personality of the individual. Ascendant is the sign rising at the time of birth. The sign rising influences the individual with certain inherent characteristics. The lord of the sign resides somewhere in the chart. The lord of this sign is the ascendant lord. Its placement influences the above characteristics and modifies them to a certain extent.

The term ‘Arudha’ means mount and represents the image of the individual. It indicates how the subconscious mind of the native works. It also tells about their likes and dislikes. Arudha is based on the placement of lord of the sign. It is computed using the following method:

(1) Rule: The rule says measuring the number of signs from the house of interest to its lord. After this, same number of signs should be measured from the lord. Now, the resulting sign will contain the Arudha of that house.

(2) Exception: It should be noted that Arudha of a house can never be in the 1st or 7th from the house. Therefore, if the calculated Arudha falls in 1st or 7th from the house of interest, then the house which lies 10th from it, is the Arudha.

Birth ascendant and the position of Arudha lagna is very important and significant in understanding the true nature of a person. Using the above information, I have tried to analyse the nature of individuals having the same birth ascendant sign with different Arudha’s.

Example 1:

Lagna is in Aries and Mars is in Aries.

Here, the birth ascendant will be Aries and Arudha lagna will be in Capricorn.

The general characteristic of a native with Aries ascendant will be present in the sense that the native tends to be energetic, active, quick-tempered, and aggressive.

However, the influence of Mars in Aries will imply that the Arudha lagna will be Capricorn. Hence, the above qualities will get modified. The relation between Mars in Aries (Capricorn Arudha) will enhance the strength of Mars and increase its energy. (As Mars becomes exalted in Capricorn).
