Malaysian flight MH 370 got missing on March 8, 2014. Sources say that the flight is carrying 239 people. Till now, nothing related to the flight has been traced out. It is believed that if performing Holika Dahan takes place during the ascendant of Bhadra, it can lead to negative impacts. It may lead to rebels, tense situations in the country. During Holika Dahan, it is recommended to bake the coverings of wheat and other crops. It is said that if we spread sand in the house by heating it, prosperity and wealth gets an increment.

The festival of Holi is celebrated in the month of Phalguna on Purnima or full moon day. This year Holika Dahan will take place on 16 March 2014 and the next day will be succeeded by Holi on 17 March 2014.Holi symbolizes harmony and brotherhood and Holika Dahan serves the purpose of destroying evil and is performed along every streets of the Nation. In ancient times, the plain colors prepared by Butea flowers or turmeric, Gulaal, Kumkum was used for celebrating Holi. But in today's changing world different kinds of chemicals are used for making strong colors, and in some places varnish, oil paints or shining paints are also used for celebrating Holi. It means that, we should use natural and safe colors as far as possible. But, apart from these precautions if we see from the astrological point of view, then different colors have different impacts on different zodiac signs. HOLI: COLORFUL SPRING

The way Spring, the King of seasons, is considered to be a pleasing amusement, similarly, the festivals celebrated during the season dissolves special pleasure in our lives as well. Most of the festive proceedings take place in the Spring season. Panchtatva or the five elements of the Universe abandon their epidemical behavior to get transformed into mild and lovely forms during the Spring season. This significance bestows Spring with the name ‘King of Seasons’. Panchtatva, betterly known as the five elements- earth, water, fire, sky and air, showcase a tempting show in Spring. In Spring, the sky appears clean, the wind blows mildly, the rays of sun (fire)  are consoling, the water has its own purity and the earth is the summation of all such gorgeous pleasures. It eases us from the chill of the Winter season. This is the time when flock of birds prefer to open up and  fly, while the farmers feel elated at the sight of the outputs of their hard work i.e. fully grown crops. The season does not discriminate in giving pleasures to the poor people. It offers the same to both the rich and the poor. While the rich people are in great appreciation of the freshness of its neo-beauty, the poor feel relieved after been struck by the unbearable cold of the Winter season.

In the same way, the arrival of the Holi Festival during Spring is paid high regards. Holi is one of the major Indian Festivals. Holi brings the festive episode of joy and colors. It is celebrated in the full-moon day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Phalguna. On Purnima or full-moon night, Holi puja is performed followed by the ritual of Holika Dahan- combustion of Holika. On this tithi or lunar day of Purnima, Holi Puja should be performed in Nisha Mukha that surpasses the Bhadra Mukha.

Significance Of Colors

On Phalguna Krishna Pratipada, people get involved in playing with colors and Gulaal (dry extractions from colored pigments). The festival also has its medical importance as the colors used in Holi work as elements of the Color Therapy. On this day, dust sports is also a well known way of celebration in the rural areas. Dust sports is considered to be the symbol of protection against the physical hazards caused due to seasonal changes. The season of Spring lets the people communicate with their happiness, high hopes and enthusiasm that protect them from the side-effects of the new season by relishing a colorful get-together, water, delicacies of food items, music, dance etc. Holi also depicts a unique tradition of composing a mockery. According to Garga Samhita, Lord Krishna was called upon Radha’s insistence to play Holi with her. Lord Krishna thought of a mockery and went to Radha in the disguised appearance of a woman. Knowing about this, Radha playfully beat the lord with Koda or stick. It is believed that this incident led to the emergence of Lath-Maar Holi - beating with sticks. Now, when we are over with the traditional aspects of Holi, let’s discuss how we should celebrate Holi.

What Should We Do In Holi?

The first and the foremost thing, be present during the combustion of Holika or Holika Dahan. If your absence in Holika Dahan has a reason behind it, you should reach the place of combustion at the dawn of the next morning and circle the spot thrice. On the eve of Holi festival, grain earrings should be offered. It is believed to be an auspicious ritual if a raw thread measuring the heights of all the members in a family from their feet fingers to their hands put up above their heads, is offered in the Holi. The ashes of the Holi is brought up to homes. The ashes should be applied to the foreheads of men and necks of women which is meant to bring prosperity along their lives.

Next day brings the commencement of the playful period of Holi. It begins early morning with  offering of colors to the Lord. Colors should dominate the day as colors are meant to drive away dystopia and life becomes a palette of happiness. If you do not want to go out of your homes on Holi, it’s okay. Since, the motive of Holi is to fill your life with pleasures and amusement, it does not matter where you play. On Holi, you should not persist feelings of enmity within you, this will be considered as your victory over your enemies. Welcome your guests with fennel and sugar that are regarded as the gestures of brotherhood and love.

Even in today’s advanced era of medications, the doctors have often been unable to recognize the symptoms of Cancer at its earliest stage. Cancer & Astrology

In Indian philosophy, staying healthy has been considered as the prime mode of happiness. It is an absolute truth that an undiseased body is given more priority to any other source of happiness. If we consider the rat-race in today’s world, it has almost turned into a dream to stay healthy. A healthy body is defined as the one that is free from any kind of disease. Talking about diseases, these can be categorized into two types:

1.  Curable diseases- these are the diseases that get cured by proper treatment, appropriate diet and proper hygiene.
2. Incurable diseases- these kinds of diseases can be treated, but they cannot be cured wholly.

Such incurable diseases trail the whole life, but can be controlled with an appropriate diagnosis. But, there are two such diseases that do not have any treatment and more than often leads to death of the patient. They are:

1. Cancer

2. A.I.D.S.

In this article, let’s interpret the astrological aspect of ‘Cancer’.

What is Cancer?

According to Ayurveda, sixth layer of skin is also known as Rohini, and in Sanskrit, it means the composition of cells. Damaging of these cells lead to the formation of an external gland, causing an uncommon inflammation in the body part. In Ayurveda, this is known by various names, such as Arbud, Gulm, Shaluka etc. When the inflammation gets beyond control, it reaches the stage of gland cancer.

Astrology is based on prenatal deeds. With the help of astrology, we can seek the results of our prenatal deeds in our present life. According to the planetary science of astrology, it is believed that a diseased body is the result of the misdeeds performed in our previous birth. Astrology has been effective in diagnosing a number of ailments, including cancer. Besides, it is also helpful in determining the stage of cancer and foretells whether it will lead to death of the patient or not. All such things can be predicted through Astrology. Let’s discuss the astrological Yogas that are helpful in recognising the symptoms of cancer.

According to text 24 of astrology gems:

1. Rahu is considered to be toxic. If Rahu has relation with any of the planetary houses and its ascendant, toxic level in the body rises.
2. Ascendant, being the 6th house lord, situated in the 8th or 10th house, if gets aspected by Rahu, increases possibility of getting diagnosed with cancer.
3. Conjunction of Saturn-Mars or Saturn-Rahu or Saturn-Ketu in, the twelfth house causes cancer.
4. Rahu’s aspect on 6th, 8th or 12th house, or aspect of Rahu on 6th, 8th and 12th house lord, leads to possibility of cancer.

Besides these, my experience has proven the effectiveness of the following points in determining cancer:

• When the 6th house and 6th house lord, are posited in the Nakshatra of malefic planet.
• Mercury is Karak (significator) of the skin. Therefore, if Mercury gets affected by the cruel planets and is aspected by Rahu, then then it causes cancer to the patient.
• The position of Mercury in the stars of afflicted or cruel planets also gives birth to cancer.

According to the classical text of Parashara Hora, influence of malefic planet on 6th house, lead to a negative impact on our health.

If Rahu or Saturn is in the 6th house, then the native may suffer from incurable disease.

Let’s try to understand the mentioned facts with the help of a Kundali. This is the Kundali of a native who was born on 27-03-1993 at 10:30 a.m. in the town of Asansol (West Bengal). Here, we are depicting the example through birth and Navmansh Kundali:

In Ascendant birth chart, Mercury being the ascendant lord is losing the strength in Shadbal and is associated with Saturn which is the lord of eighth house and Mars being the lord of sixth is in ascendant. Besides this, Rahu has been considered to be toxic and in this Kundali, it is situated in the house of disease. Further, due to residing in the sign Scorpio, it is highly affected. Considering cite, Scorpio symbolizes toxicity; therefore, it is depicting the possibility of cancer. Being in a state of ‘Heen Bali’, Mercury is positioned in the star of Rahu and retrograding Jupiter, after undergoing retrogression, is aspected by the lord of the sixth house. Rahu and Mars are in ‘Paap Kartari’. All these Yogas indicate the symptoms of Cancer.

Rahu is associated with Sun, the lord of the 3rd house. Sun is also known as the Karak of blood. Hence, it can be said that the person was suffering from blood Cancer. According to the opinions of Gemini, the patient had been considered to be short-lived and faced death of blood Cancer on 20-11-2009 during the day hours 13:30 p.m. at a hospital in Bangalore. It can be estimated that he was 16 years of age at the time of his death.

If we consider the above mentioned Kundali dated 20-11-2009, we can notice that the ascendant lord, Saturn, is positioned in the eighth house; Mars is positioned in the sixth house of the debilitated zodiac sign, while Jupiter is aspected by Mars at the bottom of the debilitated zone. The Lord of the eighth house is aspected by Mercury-Saturn and the Lord of the sixth house, Moon, is afflicted by Rahu in 11. All these summations indicate the death of the diseased person.
